we went to a few danceclubs there, including prive, poetry and bank. bank is where i saw the celebs. the selection process to get in the clubs was odd. you stood in line for an hour and the club workers went through the crowd, picking their favorites. eventually it seemed like everyone in line got in, but it just took longer for some.
prive was the first club we visited and it worried me. while in line i heard a lot of bad trance music and expected the worst. after a while he played better stuff including world hold on by bob sinclair and i wanna rock by luke.
despite the playlists in the clubs being pop-oriented, they were mixed well and exciting. the crowds got really into it.
after leaving poetry which was too crowded and california (read: ghetto) for us, we went to shadow, which had juggling bartenders and silhouettes of (nude?) women dancing.
my phone shoots better videos than i realized so i got some decent video of all this stuff, as seen below.
